LightShop v.2.O

Review by Bonnie Olendorf

LightShop is another AKVIS program.  It lets you add light effects to your photos or just sharpen and brighten them up.  You can use it as a stand-alone program on your desktop or use it with your photo-enhancing programs.  I used the stand-alone and also used it with my Adobe 6.0.

Installation was very easy.  I put in the CD and started using the program right away.  Ten days later I was prompted to put in the registration key.

The help was a simple question mark that took you on-line for answers.  I printed off the control panel directions, so I could refer back to them as I learned the program.  They were very clear and easy to understand.  On line they gave two different effects that you could follow, using your own pictures.  I found that very helpful.  There is a space at the bottom of the screen that shows a hint of anything that you point your arrow on.  This way you know at all times what everything does.

There are many read- to-use effects that come with the program that can use as is or modify. You can name and save them all.  I put sparkle in my grandchildren’s eyes, swirls in their toys, and lightning in the skies.  It was great fun.

I would recommend this program to my friends that like to do fun things with their pictures.  I do think the program is pricey at $117.00, but there is a free 10-day trial to see if you like it or not.
